Guiding Light Family Services

In 2012, Aaron Bell Sr. and Dr. Jay Klusky combined their over 60 years experience serving families, developing educational/recreational programming, and training professionals to found Guiding Light Family Services.  Our mission: To provide tools, support and opportunities in a culturally effective manner for families to heal and become exceptional.

In September 2012, Guiding Light family Services received the first of many contracts from Oregon’s Department of Human Services.  Our mandates:

          -Assist families who have had their children removed advance towards reunification   


          -Assist families at-risk of having their children removed remain intact.  


We were granted these contracts ostensibly to work

with fathers.  By 2016 we were asked to also work with

mothers and today we are happy to work with all families.

During our eleven years serving DHS, Guiding Light

has engaged more than 500 families.  A few highlights of

our results serving DHS’ families:

Individual Family Services (for clients completing our service)

* 77% Engagement rate

* 68% Completion rate

Today, in addition to our work with families, we are working to help social service organizations, schools, and socially conscious businesses more efectively engage and support those they serve.
